Todd Murphy is a name the people of Echuca-Moama will be hearing for quite some time.
The young cricketer has impressed in recent months, particularly with a dominating display at the National Under 17 Championships where he was named the Runner-Up Player of the Tournament.
He also earned his way into the Australian under 17 side which will compete at the Under 19 National Championships in December.
Murphy made three 50s at the carnival, but was just as impressive with the ball taking 13 wickets at a handy average of 17.6.
His best knock was a smashing 82 off 62 balls to drive his team to a brilliant position in the quarter-finals.
After making the move to play for Sandhurst in the Bendigo District Cricket Association, he has made a positive start including a big innings of 86 in his second game for the club.
The gun from Moama is a serious prospect moving forward and will get his chance to make his mark on the national stage.
