Tennis star Isabella Crossman set for another national experience

By Brayden May

RICH River tennis player Isabella Crossman is set to kick start her new year when she competes at the Judy Dalton Country Cup later this month.

Crossman will represent the Victorian team in a mixed-team event for players aged 13 years and under at Kooyong Tennis Club in Melbourne.

The teenager will be joined by Charlie Alcock (Ballarat), Chelsea Elliot (Traralgon) and Logan Casey (Horsham).

Tennis Victoria's Lita Trimmings said it was a great opportunity for the state's next generation of stars.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for all of these players to experience playing singles and mixed doubles at Kooyong for their state/territory in a round robin format,” Trimmings said.

“The players will also get to ride on a tram each day, have an afternoon at the Australian Open, plus they will all stay and eat together. I’m excited for them with what we have planned next year.

“It’s the best time of year to be in Melbourne.”

The event will be held between January 20 and 23 and will attract the best regional players from across the country.
